I bought this really expensive monitor and so far like it but no power button could be a deal breaker.
The laptop is running clamshell, i am currently rendering videos which takes several hours to do. I want the monitor off so I don’t light up the entire room for no reason and conserve a little energy.
Don’t tell me to unplug the monitor, that’s just a stupid idea as I would loose power to laptop.
Any help?
For all those with a similar setup I found a working function.
Control + Shift + Eject
This will put the display to sleep immediately, the laptop was still running at full tilt processing a video (fans screaming).
This appears to be the software equivalent of a power button.
Checked a few hours later and the monitor was still turned off.

Ok no physical power button but, did I expect a $2400 monitor to be able to be shut off by software, Ya I Did.
I feel this is a necessity, the light from the monitor shines through the house.
The Studio Display does not have a power button. What kind of help were you expecting? Did you not know the Studio Display had no power button when you bought it? You have 14 days to return it for a full refund.
