iOS 16 Touch Screen Problems

iPhone 11. Updating to iOS16 causes touch screen to fail.

Updated to iOS 15.7 first, then updated to iOS16 straight afterwards. Both updates ran with no issues.

After update to 16, touch screen is operating randomly. (Touch one icon and another is selected, cannot put correct numbers in to make a phone call etc) Everything else appears to work. No problems with touch before the update.

iOS 16.0.3 released. But I'm not touching this one until someone (with a lot of time) makes sure this fix the problem and doesn't make it worse (again).

My iPhone XS still crippled. Roughly every 2 days or when playing game the touchscreen suddenly unresponsive. I must force reset my phone. Movement with swipe gesture off feel lagging. But this condition a bit better than lagging swipe to home/multitasking I mention above.

we all here love to use an iphone and trust me when i say it's not an option for us to use any other phone for us. with that in mind apple should know that even when we use third party spare parts on their products we are using now later we are willing to upgrade to a better iphone. all am saying is they should fix this screen issue coz we r not going anywhere. i mean i just upgraded from an iphone 7 to 7+ to an x now in the space on now year.

I have a 3rd party screen too on my iPhone XS. I have been using the above workaround and it works most of the time. If I make a call or receive a call of more than 3-4 minutes, the touchscreen stops working and I have to force restart the phone to make it usable. Imagine if I have to switch the app during a call, it can’t be done as the touchscreen is unresponsive unless I force reboot the phone. I have heard iOS 16.1 will be released this month in October 2022. If it fixes the issue well and good otherwise I’ll have to go down to 15.7 and no more updates further.

Any news from Apple when are they going to release software fix for ghost touch issue?.

i have iPhoneX . As soon as I updated to ios16.1 from ios16 I started getting this ghost touch issue. Multiple application keeps on opening automatically without touching once unlocked or when on YouTube screen zooms , video moves ahead , another window opens.no This is irritating. Not expected from Apple who sell their phone so expensive and have this critical issue but no action taken or any news released they working on fix.

Hello Nitesh,

The issue you have reported after upgrading ti 16.1 has been reported by me and others after upgrading to iOS 16. Many have verified iOS16.1 solved this issue for them.

Mostly the devices for which screen had been replaced with a non Apple provided screen (off market) were affected. I too got my screen replaced at a 50% discount because my previous screen was still under warranty and this is a defect caused by software. I had this issue after upgrading to iOS 16 and got it fixed after getting screen replaced al most a week before iOS 16.1 came out. Now I am on iOS 16.1. The new screen wasn’t affected by upgrade to 16.1 from 16.0. I hope Apple doesn’t notices it 😜

If the screen was replaced with a part that wasn't genuine, that is more likely to be the cause of your problem.

that's what apple absolutely loves.. blaming everyone and everything but themselves..

so you ignored all those comments and the over 600 people on this thread reporting the same problem and went for the "it's your fault for not paying apple more money for repairs and parts"..

just typical.

What Apple does or does not do is not under my control.
