I can’t log in at WhatsApp web anymore since 15.7 iPadOS. It says that I need to update to safari 11

This morning, even after several times refreshing the page, my reply was or seemed not to be there anymore, indeed now it is there again, so apologies for that.

And as stated in Safari it still works, but you have to click the Aa ‘icon’ left and ask for the mobile website.

And sorry, but, as you can read, also in other fora, this issue coincided and only appeared after updating to OS 15.7.

However I (have to trust and) respect a level 10 contributor, but from experience: this kind of coincidence is quite unlikely to happen.

The so-called "browser check" Meta performs is totally unnecessary and a bad idea that lacks any technical justification.

Lots of companies want to compel people into using their dedicated app, presumably for tracking purposes and to deliver targeted advertising – data gathering that Apple intentionally makes difficult for them to do with Safari.

Perhaps Meta doesn't like that because it's contrary to their business model; of course that's speculation on my part, but it seems they are either unwilling or incapable of removing that ill-advised "browser check".

In any event it's nothing Apple can fix. Meta has to do that.
