Can't use Apple Account Balance to complete purchase

I'm attempting to use my Apple Account Balance to partially pay for an order. My credit card covers the remaining balance. I'm unable to do so and I keep getting "Your payment authorization failed. Please verify your information and try again, or try another payment method." error.


I've tried using a different credit. I was able to complete an order by just using a credit card. I'm able to use my Apple Account balance for App Store purchases just fine. I was able to use my Apple account balance to cover an entire order but I've since returned that order.


I contact support over the phone and they promised me to email me within 48 hours but I've heard from them back after 5 days. No luck with live chat either.


Who do I need to reach out to get support for this? It feels like it's account related.

So after further research this has been an issue every time you cancel or return an item bought with ID balance . (Which was the common denomonatir in our cases) You have to call back in and use these specific words “Please unblock my Purchasing Block on my Apple ID balance that was blocked when i cancelled Order mxxxxx”. If you use these words they won’t transfer you but instead create a case to level 2 which should get back in a day…. That’s the stage I’m in right now. If that doesn’t work , I’m emailing Tim Cook, if that doesn’t work BBB, it’s my hard earned real money, not just some store points

The department that has higher level of access to Apple ID details are the ones responsible for matters like disabled accounts for instance. It is necessary to choose the right support channel and always try to let them call you instead of initializing a chat conversation, then make sure in which departments you landed by asking the rep, and don’t hesitate to ask them to transfer your call to the department that has the highest level of access to Apple IDs, otherwise you will keep jumping from a rep to another and waste your time. Show them that you already know what you’re looking for.

Guys I had the same problem, and continue yo have the same problem every time me I load an apple balance


THE ONLY SOLUTION TRUST ME


1) Use you Balance for your order

2) Use $5 minimum with your card

3) If your card doesn’t work it might have been blocked by apple or bank (ask any friend or family)


and your order will go through.


billing address of the card has to be filled correctly.


2nd Option


1) order from your card during apple customer support time.

2) immediately call Apple support, tell them you want to change the payment method on your order,

3) Ask them to change your payment method to Apple Account Balance

4) when its done you will see apple account balance as your payment method on your order and sometimes even get an email for this update.

Same here. I love how when an agent can't figure out something, they'll transfer you to someone else and not even tell you -- phone rings, and there's another voice. I've been transferred back several times to very confused reps.


The support agent today made the comment "wow you're the third person today." She also confirmed that you can have a block on your Apple Account with it not showing up on checkout (nor on standard employee views).


I have two cases open to allow me the honor of spending my own money.

I returned an iPhone and added the gift card to my account earlier today and was getting "Your payment authorization failed. Please verify your information and try again, or try another payment method" What worked for me was my purchase of 950 I used $949 of my account balance and paid $1 on my credit card and the order went through. Hope this works for others.

I called support again today and they transferred me to someone who is able to create an escalated case for me. They promised they would get back to me in 24-48 hours again so we'll see.


The Apple Wallet shows the correct balance but I can't activate or link to the Wallet. Really frustrating overall, I wished I didn't add any money to the Apple account.

Spoke to a higher up person, said that he spoke with the payment department and that my balance is there, everything looks ok. He said that this might be a technical issue. He really did some remorseful for my situation and being bounced around everywhere. He ended up issuing a $150 credit. Decided to just use my credit card to order the phone. I'm sure the balance thing will be fixed sooner or later. Hopefully before the iPhone 15 though. Still, I don't plan on ever reloading an apple balance again.

I am facing the same problem What I tried to counter this glitch is,


I ordered via my credit card from the apple id which has the balance.


Right after the purchase called Apple, and asked them to change my payment method and use my Apple account balance instead.


it has been successfully updated to my apple account balance, but order is still on process, will fully know once apple balance is deducted from my account if this worked or not.


everyone facing this problem should try this and please update if this works or anything else works

Yeah the sales rep was only able to refund 1. But she transferred me to like the apps team that handles app store purchases and such. I gave him all my information about how i was trying to purchase and cc would decline and all that. Waited the 48 hrs never heard from specialist. He took down all this info and sent me to his senior advisor. And I provided him the pins and he was able to refund back everything to the gc. I had 7 gc total he did it for the remaining 6.

same issue here, phone customer support agent tried to re-produce the order with my account balance and she got the same error, then escalated and i was told it's because the shipping address is from a company (shipping forwarder as i'm living outside the us), but then i changed the address to a friend that lives in the us and it didn't work anyways


i'm beginning to think they check your credit card first and only then take the money out of your apple balance, so if you have a card added that covers the amount it probably goes through.. should check that
