It's amazing to me on how there are so many people looking for help and yet hardly a post form anyone ACTUALLY from Apple. I find it pretty comical really.

This is a user-to-user forum. Apple's participation is minimal. Paid Apple employees maintain order and the forums and, in certain forums, if a post has not received any answers in 12 hours and can be answered with a link to a support article, they are authorized to respond. But Apple Support doesn't actively participate here.

If you want help directly from Apple, you can use the Support link at the bottom left of every page of these forums.

Did you find any fix or work around? I went to Apple Store technician, he tried same approach restarting/resetting , didn’t help. Finally he said the screen I replaced myself long before could be causing issue. But it worked fine before ios 16 upgrade. Apple is trying to block diy fixes. Very disappointed with apple.

just found below article,

Some reports even suggest that this issue could be prevalent on iPhones that have a 3rd-party screen. But none of these claims have been testified.

Unfortunately, Apple hasn’t acknowledged the ghost touch issues after the iOS 16 update. We hope that the team comes up with a fix soon.

The volume up + down + restart didn't work for me. I erased, reinstalled 16.2 and restore a backup of the phone about 2 days ago. The system seems better but at least once or twice a day the screen response stops for few minutes and then it gets back to normal. Still thinking from time to time there's a process consuming the processor resources.

Just replying to my last post. I spoke too soon. After a couple of days from a complete erase and restore from backup my phone is completely useless, the screen is not responding probably 90% of the time, just leaving the phone open on my desk, the phone open apps on its own, randomly, scroll screen and I can't control anything. Only option I have is restarting. Pretty depressing.
