Workaround: Settings > Touch > Accessibility > Touch Accomodation (Turn on Touch Accomodation) > Scroll down and Select “Initial Touch Location” >> Scroll down >> Swipe Gestures (Turn on Swipe Gestures) >> Select “Standard”. (Source)

Did you find any fix or work around? I went to Apple Store technician, he tried same approach restarting/resetting , didn’t help. Finally he said the screen I replaced myself long before could be causing issue. But it worked fine before ios 16 upgrade. Apple is trying to block diy fixes. Very disappointed with apple.

just found below article,

Some reports even suggest that this issue could be prevalent on iPhones that have a 3rd-party screen. But none of these claims have been testified.

Unfortunately, Apple hasn’t acknowledged the ghost touch issues after the iOS 16 update. We hope that the team comes up with a fix soon.

Just replying to my last post. I spoke too soon. After a couple of days from a complete erase and restore from backup my phone is completely useless, the screen is not responding probably 90% of the time, just leaving the phone open on my desk, the phone open apps on its own, randomly, scroll screen and I can't control anything. Only option I have is restarting. Pretty depressing.

My wife's XS Max just did this immediately after updating to IOS 16.2. No touch screen, so it is bricked! Tried the various suggestions, but to no avail. I very occasionally can get it to accept the passcode to unlock, but then there is no response from the screen whatsoever, so can't get to Settings, or anything else. I have exactly the same phone, although mine is 256GB and hers 64GB), but mine works fine on IOS 16.2.

Tried connecting to my PC, but cannot click the "Allow" button to get access to anything on the phone! Stuffed! Problem is how the heck do you get to a fix if you can't unlock the phone? Thanks Apple!!!!!!

I just updated to 16.3.? and now the touch screen is nonresponsive to swiping up. It does not respond to any touch on the bottom menu, either. I cannot open my phone unless I have a notification on the lock screen that I can tap. Then I can't close any apps, including the one I unlocked my phone by opening from the lock screen. I had absolutely no issues with my iPhone X until this update. What can I do?

It's amazing to me on how there are so many people looking for help and yet hardly a post form anyone ACTUALLY from Apple. I find it pretty comical really. Some "Level 10'er" suggests to restart/reboot your phone and problem solved. I got news for ya...we do that WITHOUT YOUR HELP!! Let's get some real stuff done and just admit there is a problem with the update and it is Apple's job to fix it. So, with that said, I have a suggestion...stop doing in-house yoga and free flow work environment upgrades and get someone who reads these post and do your jobs! PLEASE...FIX...THE...SCREEN...FREEZING...SINCE...THE...UPDATE!!! OUR DEVICES WERE WORKING JUST FINE UNITL...THE...UPDATE...WAS PERFORMED. Do we have to send this to your developers using binary? I try that...11011100001001001010001001011011001000010011111010001000100100001111100100010101001001. Translation: FIX YOUR UPDATE!!!!!

This is a user-to-user forum. Apple's participation is minimal. Paid Apple employees maintain order and the forums and, in certain forums, if a post has not received any answers in 12 hours and can be answered with a link to a support article, they are authorized to respond. But Apple Support doesn't actively participate here.

If you want help directly from Apple, you can use the Support link at the bottom left of every page of these forums.
