Can't import photos gives me an error message
After updating to IOS 16, I tried importing a video and a photo however, I get this error message from the photos app. Is this a bug with IOS 16 or a bug with the photos app?

as I can email only 5 photos each time to transfer them to my desktop Mac Pro I found another and hopefully temporarily (until an iOS 16.1 fix) alternative with which you can transfer up to 2Gb in 1 time: use https://wetransfer.com
I am using this service for years for all kind of other documents and it works perfectly.
The only disadvantage is that the file get a WeTransfer file name instead of IMG_1234.jpg by your iPhone. Something like
1399D0A7-B54D-4562-8A78-47D57503110E.jpeg
However, once imported in the Photos app the images will be in regular chronological order.

Same problem as described above immediately following iOS 16 update, using the following setup:
So Ron, are you happy that Apple has prevented you from using the Photo app on your Mac, that you get an error message, that they don't care?
I have the same problem importing photos from iphone XS MAX. Any resolutions?
One work around that worked for me is to export the photos from the iphone using airdrop.
Apple made it so High Sierra is not compatible with iOS 16 anymore.
I tried to import my photos on Catalina and it works but get this Error message on my old MacBook running High Sierra.
We are airdropping the photos and it works fine using MacOS Mojave. No more cables. The latest update did nothing to address this problem.
We can still import photos into the photo app via airdrop. No problemo.
Did you try downloading photos to your desktop from the SD card and then import to Photos? That is another workaround we used.
Thanks for this work around blmvb! I was able to at least get some things taken care of.
the latest iOS fixed the problem. i downloaded the update today, updated my phone, and downloaded pictures using the cable.
iOS 16.1 released today fixes the problem
I just downloaded iOS 16.1 and indeed the problem is finally solved.
Hopefully it will remain this way with future updates 🤞
