Where can I find my current background picture on iPhone

Where can I find my current background picture on iPhone. I no longer have the photo on my phone or in my iCloud Photos for some reason and I don’t want to lose the photo.

Download iPhone Wallpaper I have lost the original photo that I have set as my iPhone wallpaper. I have used backups to transfer the photo to new phones, but would like to be able to download the photo to my library. My new phone is giving me the option to customize current wallpaper and there is an "see in photo library" but that just takes me to the most recent picture in Photos. The wallpaper transfers to new phones through backups, so is there a way I can download from an icloud or computer backup? Is there another way to save the photo? Thank you

Can a picture be retrieved if deleted on app? Use goggle photos because I started out with android cell. Now have a iPhone. Looking for a picture I deleted before. Does it remain in cloud or is it gone?

I'm afraid, you wallpaper photo has to be part of the photo library to be able to choose it again for the use as a background or lock screen wallpaper.

Change the wallpaper on your iPhone - Apple Support

I was lucky enough to still have the photo I used in iOS 15, after I upgraded to iOS 16 and wanted to change the size of the fonts.
