Connecting to an Unsecured Network

Hi, I just recently got a 2019 MacBook Pro and I’m on version 12.5.1.

I work a lot at coffee shops and I have found that my Mac will not connect to public Wi-Fi’s. It has no problem connecting at home or in the office to secured password protected networks, but it refuses to connect to an “unsecured network”.

The Mac won’t open the typically Wi-Fi login page at a Starbucks or any other coffee shop. In the photo the top two networks shown have no security and are the ones I have had trouble connecting to.

I have tried resetting, but I’m not really sure what else to do. Thank for the help!

Open a browser and insert 1.1.1.1 into the address bar and try yo navigate to that address. This may force open the login page.
