iPhone 14 Pro Battery Draining Fast

Anybody have a clue why the iPhone 14 pro battery is draining like a Samsung? My 13 pro and 13 pro max battery was so much better.. I’m lucky to get through the day with the new 14 pro battery!! What’s going on? Is this because of the new always on display?

I own iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. Battery life on both are nothing short of amazing. For example it is now going on noon. My 14 Pro Max has been off its MafSafe Charger, since 7:30 AM this morning and my remaining battery is 98% at this very moment.

If your battery is draining faster than you expect, you need to see what is using the battery.

Go to Settings > Battery and wait for the categories to populate. You likely have something running in the background you need to stop running.

You can also Force Restart your iPhone (something you should do routinely anyway) by following the procedure in this support document --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

Let’s say it is not a “poor battery” but could it be a poor design? Because if you are launching a new phone (or new software update, in case its an iOS16 issue) you do have to consider updated factors as 5G new technology, the difference in displays, and how apps works now… all to deliver a product (harware or sofware) according to what you are branding and preview delivered on older phones. I mean …it is not like the apps and network where updated after the product was launched.

And AGAIn to be clear: I have brightness at its lowest and location services always off… and so other services described before.

THAT SAID, i think it’s absurd that you have to restrict yourself of the general services and turn off almost everything just to use your phone more than 10hours. Specially those features that makes this new iPhone the big great thing.

I really appreciate your technical contribution to this discussion though.

I am having the same issue. I contacted Apple support and they said my battery needs to be replaced and set me up with an appointment at the Apple Store. I get to the Apple Store and they said my battery is fine and they won’t replace it. I just wasted my time driving there and waiting. My usage isn’t any different from my iPhone 12 but I remember that phone battery last thing a lot longer.

So so sorry to read you! i’m starting to feel hopeless when more people have the same problem and no answer from Apple yet.

i beleive there must be a sofware bug because even with app refresh turned off manually and even with low power mode (wich disable background activity) i see in the battery report that some apps are running background activity. It’s so contradictory that i made a screen video.

the real sad part its im getting an average of 16 hours perfomance only using 2 apps. On best days 24 hours (counting sleeping time … so do the math)

Excellent test!

Looks like you've fingered the culprit.

'Find My' is trying to stay in contact with the device location, and with no/not enough cellular signal it's permanently shouting in the wilderness 'Here I am' at full signal strength.

Repeat the test back in normal location with 'Find My' turned off. If that confirms the diagnosis. leave it turned off for a day or two and check, then turn it on again and see what happens.

Keep notes to submit with your report to Apple.

So my iphone 14pro is also draining fast. I have to plug it in by noon every day because it's less than half battery. My app drains as a % are normal apps like messaging and safari, not data intense apps that usually use a lot of battery. My phone is also very hot at times which is worrisome. I am taking it in to the repair center for them to do diagnostics but I also bought apple care last night so I can get a replacement if it is not fixed. The apple tech that I talked to on the phone said he had the same issue with his 13, exchanged it, and the new one works fine. I think it's a hardware issue. Perhaps a batch of the batteries is faulty or something. If that is the case, a replacement is the only solution.

This is the same reason why iphone 6 users currently always complain about their battery as well yet maximum capacity is still the same . l used an iphone 6s for long and never faced any battery issues back then , how ever , if you use a 100% battery health on iphone six today , you hardly spend a day same as 14 series . What am l saying ??? you are probably confused right now 😂😂 , the new features on the iphone 14 pro and pro maxes are draining up more battery.. the so called improve that and that e.t.c . lf you want to save your battery , deactivate many features on the phone ... especially voice recorgnition on siri .. , make sure airdrop is always off . lf you like music , just know ... the improved bluetooth range also consumes more battery than of 13 series . If you put an iphone 13 pro battery in 14 pro max ...l bet , it wont last 3 hrs 😂. 14 pro has a bigger battery but it has a the monster has a big throat as well 😂😂. lt slurps your battery quick quick
