iPhone 14 Pro Battery Draining Fast

Anybody have a clue why the iPhone 14 pro battery is draining like a Samsung? My 13 pro and 13 pro max battery was so much better.. I’m lucky to get through the day with the new 14 pro battery!! What’s going on? Is this because of the new always on display?

I own iPhone 14 Pro and 14 Pro Max. Battery life on both are nothing short of amazing. For example it is now going on noon. My 14 Pro Max has been off its MafSafe Charger, since 7:30 AM this morning and my remaining battery is 98% at this very moment.

If your battery is draining faster than you expect, you need to see what is using the battery.

Go to Settings > Battery and wait for the categories to populate. You likely have something running in the background you need to stop running.

You can also Force Restart your iPhone (something you should do routinely anyway) by following the procedure in this support document --> Force restart iPhone - Apple Support

I have the 14 Pro, I come from a XS Max with 90% life battery left. The battery on my 14 Pro is really bad compared to my XS. Its definitely lower at the end of the day and I am not using it that much. I understand that I have 120hz and always on display now but to me that doesn’t feel right. I didnt change the way I use the phone.I can see that I am not alone. I hope they can fix this with updates.

Right. I got my iPhone 14 pro on first day itself and the way the battery is draining is surprising. I did a trade in with my XS and trust me my XS has better battery backup. I have turned off all the features and using low power mode though out the day. When I had a call with Apple Care executive, she said there is no problem with my battery (after sharing the diagnosis report). This is really bad

also, I have already done a reset of the phone on the 3rd day but no luck.

2% an hour would be 24% over a 12 hour day. That is fantastically good battery life. And there is no such thing as “standby drain”. The phone is never in standby; it is always doing things. Unless you never receive texts, emails, notifications, updates to content such as weather. And even then it is still maintaining a “handshake” with the cellular network, syncing iCloud and other apps that maintain cloud data. What is your network setting? It should be 5G Auto if you have that as an option; it is the setting that will use the least energy.

If you want to see the closest you can get to standby drain put the phone in airplane mode and make sure Wi-Fi is off, and leave it that way all day.

I agree with skiadt. My iPhone 14 Pro arrived yesterday and is still undergoing issues, one of which is battery charging and draining. My iPhone 11 Pro had significantly increased battery drain after switching from IOS 15 to 16. I am not a heavy user and on IOS 15 the battery would drain about 15% per day. With IOS 16 the drain increased to over 30% per day, despite switching all the electives off and using dark mode. My iPhone 14 Pro used about 40% in the last six hours with most everything but wifi and bluetooth off. Wireless charging with thin case makes the unit quite warm and I am going to switch back to lightning to charge it. Not set up for MageSafe charging, yet.

That can’t be…I’ve never had to nor should I have to turn my WiFi off when leaving home. My f that really is the cause, Apple needs to fix it.

And it isn’t. Wi-Fi uses essentially NO energy when not connected to a network transferring data. And you should not turn Wi-Fi off away from home; it is essential for Find My and any mapping program to work. It uses the location of known Wi-Fi networks to improve the accuracy of GPS and to find your location when GPS is not available, which is any time there is anything blocking a clear view of the sky, such as trees, tall buildings, and, of course, indoors.
