Apple Car play/Bluetooth

I just upgraded to the iPhone 14 pro max and ever since everyone complains they can barely hear me on CarPlay as if I’m whispering and on Bluetooth they say it’s louder but sounds like I’m in a wind tunnel and still difficult to hear. I am very disappointed as I had no trouble at all a few days ago on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. It’s obviously an issue with the new phone/iOS but what can I do about it? I already played around with all the settings/volumes I could find.

I have the same issue. I've tried it in several friends cars, wired and wireless CarPlay, its always the same. I've tried resetting the phone, resetting the network settings, etc. Nothing is helping. Its as if they have the car microphone sensitivity setting turned down to about 50%.

As far as today and since last Wednesday, this solution seems to work for me. I’ll see if it still does in an hour when I’ll take my car.

go to your car dealer and ask for a factory reset of the entertainment system.

mon your iPhone, forget the car associated in car play and Bluetooth settings.

restart your iPhone.

when factory reset of the car is done, pair again your phone and restart the car.

I also have noticed that if your network connection in 4G 5G is poor or if you are in an underground parking, CarPlay has issues to connect.

I’m having the same issue on my 2020 Acura TLX. Upgraded to the 14 ProMax from an 11 and on every call, the other person tells me that I sound like I’m way to far away, they can’t hear me and they hang up or I sound like I’m in the bottom of a tunnel. Makes no difference if I call someone or someone calls me. I’ve been to the Acura dealership twice and they diagnose and say it’s not on their end. The cars Bluetooth call connection works fine. Other Acura technicians iPhones work fine when hardwired. Apple Music for the most part, works fine as well as Maps. Apple only tells me to wait on a fix.

Seems that they broke it in 16.1 as it doesn't work again, sound with Carplay is really low at the listeners end. With this version I am having issues with just the iPhone 14pro max with the volume at the listeners end being really low. You would think that they test these updates before they post them. They know what was fixed with the different versions so they can test those fixes with each update.... it is called regression testing..

CarPlay‘s still having issues. I’m told that I still sound like I’m talking from the bottom of a well. Had yet another Acura service technician hook up an older iPhone and an Android and both are significantly better. The Android, I could hardly tell he was in my car.

At this point it’s just plain ridiculous that Apple can’t fix the issue

My CarPlay has completely muted volume when making a call - I can’t hear a thing.

Also, my calls drop out all the time so I’ve had to switch to 4G from

5G to prevent this (what was the point in upgrading) and my wallpaper has just disappeared twice now & I’ve had to reset it & my Face ID function just stopped working and had to turn the phone off and on again and completely set it up again as though I’d never done it in the first place. Full of glitches. For $2,700 it’s a total disappointment so far (yes that’s what the top of the range costs in Australia). Other issues - the Google app freezes all the time and when voice texting someone using CarPlay (using Siri), if you go to text person A and during that text message mention person B the phone instead changes it to text person B!! So let’s say you say “Hey Siri, send a text to Jenny” and Siri says “what do you want to say?” Then the screen display shows you as texting Jenny. So far so good. And you say “hope you’re ok. Let Josh know I’ll be there at 5” the screen changes that you’re now texting Josh. What the ****? Huge potential ramifications for this bug!
