How to tell if my Apple Pencil is genuine or fake?

Hi!!!

So I recently received a gift, which was an Apple pen 2.gen, or at least it looks like one.

My issue is that I can’t tell whether it’s real or not, because the packaging is completely white, like no Apple logo or anything. However the pen itself looks very realistic to me and it also says “pencil” at the bottom.

I still can’t figure out whether there are Apple pen dupes for the second generation, that look almost identical, so I wanted to know if you guys know alternatives that could match the description?

(Also I’m currently not able to ask the person if it’s a dupe😅)

Okay,

That iPad year and model uses the original, 1st gen Apple Pencil and NOT the newest 2nd gen version.

Bring that 2nd gen Pencil back your nearest, “local” Apple Store location and see if they will replace it, if genuine, for a 1st grin Apple Pencil, instead.

This Apple Pencil 2nd gen you have now, could be a refurbished/replacement Apple Pencil as Apple, typically, sends , as well as sells, replacement and/or refurbished products, through the mail, in plain, non-descriptive boxes.
