Why is my right airpod microphone cutting in and out during calls
I have 2nd generation AirPods that I’ve been using since November 2021. They are updated to the latest firmware version 4E71. I use them with an iPhone 11 Pro Max on the latest software version 15.6.1
I use them individually (left or right) as a hands free Bluetooth earphone for phone calls when at work on a daily basis. I will alternate their use each day so they ‘wear and tear’ evenly.
They have both been working perfectly up until about a week or two ago, when I noticed that only the right AirPod microphone will malfunction during a phone call (regardless if cellular or data) where the other party says my voice is either really low or fading in and out.
I have read that the Bluetooth connection can be interrupted by other radio channel/ WiFi signals, and I have confirmed that, as when I’m driving it works fine, but the minute I’m inside a building (with WiFi) it gives trouble.
What I don’t understand is why has it been working perfectly fine for the past ten months, and now all of a sudden it’s malfunctioning.
Nothing significant has changed in my environment to say that could be contributing to the issue. Has there been a recent software update that could cause this to happen?
