If you guys have a problem with “AirPods Incomplete Setup in Find my Devices” Follow this instructions:

  1. Make sure your AirPods are connected to your iPhone and AirPods tied to your Apple ID.
  2. Go to AirPods settings, TURN OFF Find My Network.
  3. Go to settings and tap your name/Apple ID and chose FIND MY and then TURN OFF Find My iPhone & TURN OFF Share My Location.
  4. TURN OFF your iPhone and turn your iPhone back ON.
  5. Go back again to settings and tap your name/Apple ID and chose FIND MY and then TURN ON Find My iPhone and TURN ON Share My Location.
  6. Go back again to AirPods settings, TURN ON Find My Network.
  7. ALL SET, now you will see your AirPods in Find My Devices like a Normal.

I just had this issue for the last two weeks. Did all the steps above and still no fix. Just sat here for the last 30 minutes restarting my phone, forgetting the airpod 2's reconnecting, resetting everything up, and for some reason like the 4th time forgetting the device and reconnecting it, it just worked again.

Seems to be a bug and no idea why it just decided to show up and connect on the find my airpods again because I did the same exact steps over and over.

Been having this problem for months, just followed the suggested fix, and notice that when I turned off find my in the AirPods settings, this actually fixed the problem.

They are now showing up in find my app, without the Incomplete setup error...despite not having that toggle switch turned on under the AirPods settings menu.

Weird bug for sure

same thing happened when I reset my AirPods. Brand new, the worked fine. After reset, kept getting this message in find my. Apple’s setup page didn’t get me anywhere, and resetting the find my settings didn’t do anything either. But I did get it to work. Here’s what I did:

I first disconnected and reset my AirPods. Then I hard restarted my phone(without connecting any AirPods). Then, I went into find my and deleted my old saved AirPods from my Apple ID. Then, after connecting my AirPods, I listened to some audio for a couple minutes then checked find my. And there they were, working perfectly fine.

hope this helps!

This remains broken. The ability to Find My AirPods Pro 2 is inoperable. Turning off Find My in the Bluetooth Settings just removes the error because it uses the AirPods themselves as the location beacon. Sounds will play out of the AirPods when pinged (if connected to bluetooth, out of the case) which is almost inaudible.

I would like the case to function as intended and allow me to locate using the U1 Chip. I paid a lot for this produst, as we all do for Apple products, and it's never worked as intended. I have followed all troubleshooting steps including resetting Network Settings which is highly disruptive and inconvenient as it deletes stored WiFI settings.

Update:

I did get it to disappear with the above actions and ONE extra step...

After completing the above 4 steps, I opened the case under Blutooth Settings and the AirPods settings appeared, Find My was ALREADY enabled... I just **** the case and THEN when the setting disappeared, I hit Show In Find My and the Find My app opened and the error was gone. Not sure why we are censoring the word CLOSED. **** = CLOSED. Whatever.

Remove them from FindMy

Disable FindMy on iPhone

Pair AirPods to iPhone

Turn FindMy back on

With AirPods case CLOSED, go to Bluetooth Settings and hit "i" to open AirPods settings, then when the "limited" settings appear OPEN the case and the "expanded" settings will show up. Change NOTHNG. Close the case and hit Show in Find My and it will take you to the Find My app and the normal options should appear.

Thank you to the above from SecretCactus.

Over 1000 people have hit that "Me Too" button... they are aware of it. It's probably not so easily solvable. Look for the U2 available soon.

I tried everything above besides a Network Reset. I posted the steps and the final posted version was butchered where the words closed was censored and the list of actions was de-numerated and reformatted to single space. Makes it really hard to follow steps.

The only thing I can think of that I did differently was reboot the phone after I removed the airpods fron the phone and disabled find and share my location. Reboot, reset airpods, and follow those steps and it should work. super annoying. I agree.
