How do I fix this error?
If you guys have a problem with “AirPods Incomplete Setup in Find my Devices” Follow this instructions:

hold the pairing button on the case with the case open & go to settings > your airpods pro > find my & turn on & off the find my thing
I had the same issue just now..
Perhaps you could try turning off find my on your phone, then turning it back on.. Then open find my, and somehow my airpods pro gen 2 finished set up. Hope this helps
I had the incomplete setup problem from the start, and no workarounds helped at all. Apple took them in and they were replaced. I connected the new ones in seconds and no problems at all after that. Suspecting others have faulty ones too because Apple gear normally just works.
After days of trying everything this is what actually worked! I disconnect from my iPhone and set up in my MacBook then went back to my iPhone and it was reset! Thank you!!
Airpods Pro 2 are crappy. After much hit and trial following settings worked for me-
In Settings->Bluetooth->Air Pods Pro-> Turn off Find my network
yes it is supposed to be turned off and when you click on show in find my you will see it is being tracked.
Over 1000 people have hit that "Me Too" button... they are aware of it. It's probably not so easily solvable. Look for the U2 available soon.
I tried everything above besides a Network Reset. I posted the steps and the final posted version was butchered where the words closed was censored and the list of actions was de-numerated and reformatted to single space. Makes it really hard to follow steps.
The only thing I can think of that I did differently was reboot the phone after I removed the airpods fron the phone and disabled find and share my location. Reboot, reset airpods, and follow those steps and it should work. super annoying. I agree.
If you are not on IOS16 then upgrade it.
If you are then,
In Settings->Bluetooth->Air Pods Pro-> Turn off Find my network
I just had this issue for the last two weeks. Did all the steps above and still no fix. Just sat here for the last 30 minutes restarting my phone, forgetting the airpod 2's reconnecting, resetting everything up, and for some reason like the 4th time forgetting the device and reconnecting it, it just worked again.
Seems to be a bug and no idea why it just decided to show up and connect on the find my airpods again because I did the same exact steps over and over.
Disabling the Find my network option under the AirPods Pro setting might work. This addresses the “AirPods mismatch” error too. The one enabled for the iPhone under Find my will work also for any paired accessory including the AirPods Pro. Hope this helps.
I had this error so every time I connect to a windows computer I see this on my iPhone but if I hard reset them everything is good until I reconnect them with my windows laptop. I think there is a bug with the windows and AirPods. Hope that helps
Facing the same issue but in AirPods Pro Gen 1. Tried contacting the support team, they escalated to their senior advisor and then the almost long hour call was simply dead. Dead, not disconnected.
First they couldn’t come up with a solution for 13 pro’s notifications sound issue, and now this AirPods issue. I’ll have to think about moving back to android again.
yes the tracking is useless if you turn it off find my on airport, the same thing happened to me and I learned how to live with this bug ...... PS I tried everything and the support team doesn't say its a bug they will always say restart your phone and reset your Airpod ...... nothing happened I have iPhone 14 ..... so

My air buds pro 2 are lost & in find my app showing setup incomplete, what will do
Look for them the old-fashioned way. Go to where you saw them last and look. Retrace your steps. Check in at lost & founds and reception desks in places you've been. Look in the pockets of all the close you've worn since the last time you remember having them. Look between the sofa cushions and under the seat in the car. If there are any small children in your life, ask them if they might have seen (i.e. "have been playing with" )them.
I'm also facing this same issue and I have tried all the methods but it didn't work out for me.
i fell asleep with my right airpod on and I couldn’t find it when I woke up I looked on the find my iPhone app and it said AirPod set up incomplete so I wasn’t able to find my right air pod
