This worked for me. Please note that you have to repeat the process on ALL of your Apple devices. This happened to me after using my Airpods Pro 2nd gen with my windows 11 laptop.

This also fixed my issue.

So bottom line: Apple has a bug where turning this to OFF actually turns it ON (it’s backwards). How do we tell Apple about this bug???

This is interesting... I have done what others have mentioned and "turn if off instead of on" and I can locate them and they work normally.

We are lucky this is not just removed outright.
