Hey, I just got mine to work on my Samsung (was having this problem too - no sound or very choppy sound if it did manage to come through for a bit) by changing the audio format from Bitstream to PCM. Hope it works for others.

The problem here is the AirPods 2 will connect via Bluetooth to the TV but once you start using the TV remote, they will go silent. They will appear to be connected but no more sound. I informed Apple about this multiple times and spoke to super advisors and engineers and they just ignored us. .The best they can come up with is call Sampson which once you tell them there’s no issue with any other Bluetooth devices and your Samsung TV

I am certain it’s the TV. I have no problem getting the AirPods Pro’s Gen2 to connect with the Samsung TV. If I watch something on cable (using the Xfinity remote to fast forward) the AirPods stay connected just fine. But if I stream anything via the TV itself, if I use the Samsung remote to fast forward, pause, or change apps, the AirPods lose sound. The TV shows that they’re still connected, but there’s no sound until I do one of the following:

  1. Put the AirPods back in their case, close the case, wait about 20 seconds, open the case, and put the AirPods back in my ears (at which point the TV displays a message asking if I want to reconnect to the AirPods), or
  2. On the TV (which still says it’s connected to the AirPods), change the sound output to something else and then change it back to the AirPods.

Either of these methods work. Both are frustrating and should be unnecessary.

BTW. If I simply watch whatever I’m streaming and never touch the Damsung remote, the AirPods remain connected and working. It’s only when I use the Samsung remote to do anything to alter what’s streaming.

Brand new AirPods Pro 2 arrived yesterday.

Connected to my 2023 Samsung Frame Tv, they connected fine and worked for about 13 mins.

After 13 mins I noticed a crackling/choppy sound on them. Put them back in case for a minutes reconnected sounded fine.

Today used them with YouTube app on the tv. If I fast forward or scroll through a video the sound goes choppy and then drops. Tv says they are still connected though. Have tried volume on the stalks etc.

AirPods are on latest firmware (6B34)

frame tv is also on latest firmware.

So looks like over 2 years this issue is on going?

Should I give up and return now while I can?

Very disappointed in Apple

I urge you all to reference my case number 101823815654 and insist you are also compensated.

I was sent an Apple 4K with ethernet free as an apology.

However it doesn't fix my problem as I still can't use AirPods with PS5 or a movie playing off a thumb drive in the TV.

I live in Australia in case that means anything to you or your claim.

I also have a letter from the Store authorising a return from the store I Bought the AirPods from as they at least agreed that they are not acceptable to me and not 'fit for purpose'.

I am sorry, I should have waited to post the reply. When I disconnected and reconected them they started to fail again if the sound stops by switching apps or whatever. But when I disabled Anynet+ they worked correctly for the first time so I thought it was the solution. And in my case Airpods 3 work flawlessly, I only have issues with Airpods Pro Gen 2 too

Got this issue too. But a bit different. Mine do connect and play Audio if I alreade have some form of audio playing. At the moment that the audio stops playing for a ms (for example when skipping the intro on a Netflix series) the sounds stops playing while the AirPods Pro 2 stay connected. Never had this issue with my aipords pro 1. Think I’ll return them and continue using my AirPods Pro one.

I am having the same or a similar issue. I’ve been able to easily use my first generation AirPods Pro with my Samsung Q80T. However, I recently got a pair of second generation AirPods Pro, and they are not working well at all with the same tv. I can get them to connect, and the sound is okay for the first few minutes, but then it gets terribly choppy and I end up not being able to hear anything. If I switch to the tv speaker or sound bar then back to the AirPods it will work again for a minute, but then it does the same thing. I’ve tried resetting and disconnecting the AirPods and making sure the tv is updated.
