iPhone email not synching with MacBook Air email

When I read an email(Bell mail) or delete an email on my iPhone, it doesn't appear as read or deleted on my MacBook Air.

I can send an email from iPhone and it appears immediately on my MacBook.

I can read or delete and send an email on my MacBook and it is reflected immediately on my iPhone.

I can go into bell webmail on my iPhone and read or delete an email, then go back to check email(Bell mail and it appears as read or deleted.

I've checked settings on both devices all are set to imap no pop.

Any suggestions on what I can check to get the email on my iPhone in sync with MacBook?

Hello, SueAppleSupport.

You've done some great narrowing down of the issue on both devices, so thanks for doing that ahead of time. From here, our advice would be to remove the mail account from the Mail app on both devices, restart them, then add it back. Sometimes, that can help straighten out syncing issues.

Remove email accounts in Mail on Mac - Apple Support

      1. "In the Mail app  on your Mac, choose Mail > Preferences, then click Accounts.

      • Tap Other, tap Add Mail Account, then enter your email account information."

Remember to restart both devices in between removing and adding back (Restart your iPhone & Shut down or restart your Mac - Apple Support). Let us know if we can help with anything else at all or if this doesn't settle your issue. Thanks and have a fabulous day!
