Accuracy of find my friends

So I’ve been trying to figure this out because it just doesn’t make sense. My husband pinged at a location 0.9 miles away from his supposed actual location. It was very pin point to a house on a street we don’t travel through but is close in proximity to an area he travels in. The first time he pinged there he was supposedly still at work, but the second time he pinged at that location he was on his way home from work . The second time he pinged he said maybe it was because he was close to that proximity on the way home, but if anyone understands me, why would he have pinged there the first time if he was still at work? I’m a bit confused and don’t want to launch a whole investigation on this if it’s just a wasted of time and energy in the wrong person. He’s cheated before which is why we have find my friends enabled.
