Voice to text stopped working after ios 16.0.2 update

Iphone 12- voice to text stopped working

The Mic is there and turns on and nothing happens.

I've rebooted, turned "enable dictation" off and on.

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand Dictation isn't working quite right on your iPhone. We have some questions to help narrow down what might be going on.

Which app or apps have you tried using Dictation with?
Do you have headphones connected at the time?
Are you usually connected to a Wi-Fi network or using cellular data when this occurs?
Do you notice any other microphone issues?

We want to make sure you aren't have any other microphone issues. For example, we'd like you to confirm your microphone works when you use Siri, Voice Memos or during phone calls. If you notice a microphone issue in any other setting, this could be part of why Dictation isn't working. We look forward to hearing back from you to figure this out.

Hi,

I have done all the things that I have found on this issue and the mic highlights in notes, messages and mail, but does not do the voice to text. If I hit send in these apps, it just spins endlessly.

Voice to text worked in ALL these apps prior to 16.0.2 upgrade.

The mic works. I can record in Voice recorder.

I have turned the feature on and off, removed headphones from network and readded it.

I am using 5 G wifi.

Again, there was no problem on my iphone 12 before this last upgrade.

Should I just go to the genius bar?
