My Apple Watch brand new series eight, flashes green screen when I meet my move goal. The usually red circle and vibration is accompanied by flashing green screen. Does not seem right.

I'm having the same issue, and it is not the normal animation as the other poster suggested.

The entire screen flickers green while the animation is running. It's never done it before, and I suspect it's a bug in the latest WatchOS 9 update. If so, hopefully will get fixed in a patch.

That is normal:

watch flashes green after reaching fitness goal

When you close a ring in the Fitness app, an animation appears to celebrate the accomplishment.

If you do not wish to see this, open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone. Tap on My Watch (at the bottom) > Activity and toggle Goal Completions off. This should stop that from appearing.

More information on how the Activity app handles notifications is available here: Use the Activity app on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

I am having the same issue with my Apple Watch Series 6, OS 9.1. It was worse until I renewed my Applecare+ since my initial warranty expired this month. It's still there but not as bad. I thought it was a hardware issue until I started reading this thread and saw many people having the same issue. Hopefully it is software and it will be fixed soon.

I wonder if it has something to do with the Applecare+ renewal message that is in the watch app on the iPhone.

To see your AppleCare+ status, open the Watch app on the iPhone, and navigate to General->About->AppleCare+.

My Apple Watch 6 has just started doing the same thing over the last week.

Only does it when my move rings close.

I’m just installing the new update that’s come through today so hoping that sorts it and it was a glitch from the previous update 🤞🏼

I started seeing this after a couple of weeks with the new watch; many of the animations were initially fine. I just tried restarting, but obviously I have to wait a few hours until I meet my goals before I can see the animation. Has anyone else had things go back to normal after a reboot?

Exactly same issue here when there’s a “move goal” animation the screen flickers green. Tried to raise with support and zero help, reported it as a bug. From my experience it takes multiple updates until things like this get repaired as the tech team pretend to listen to you but they don’t really

I’m having the same issue with Apple Watch Series 8. Just bought this. It was running great with the sparkly circle animation and now since the update, the whole screen flashes green. Will there be an update to the iOS for the Watch? If so, when?

It is satisfying to see the animation after completing a workout circle; however, it is frustrating to see this glitch.

Hi Guys,

I’ve the same problem with my series 6. I faced with this green screen flashing issue a few days ago when I completed my move goals. It looks terrible.

By the way since ios16 upgrade the bluetooth calls via car multimedia is horrible (popping, crackling, noise etc….)

If I could, I would revert to ios 15 or 14….

I'm having the same issue, and it started with the last update. I was able to search online and found a temporary fix. If you disconnect your watch, restart it, and then connect it again, it'll be good for a couple weeks. I have a Series 7, 1-year old, and this never happened before the October update. It's definitely not normal.

The same is happening since today with my Apple Watch 7. I have been using watchOS 9.1 for some time now, without issues. So I’m not sure if it’s related to a bug in the latest watchOS version, since that bug would have manifested itself right after the last update.

Has Apple commented on this already?
