Whatsapp call bug on iPhone 14 Pro

Device: iPhone 14 Pro

iOS: 16.0.2

When I call someone on WhatsApp, the screen does not turn off with the proximity sensor when held near the ear/finger placed on top of the sensor; it stays on. However if someone else calls me on WhatsApp (tried both when unlocked and locked) it works. Direct call works as well. Problem only occurs when I call from WhatsApp. This problem does not occur on iPhone 7 Plus running iOS 15.7.

This is a software bug.

You will need to contact WhatsApp for help with their software, this is not an Apple product.
