Past couple days my iPhone14 Pro Max has been overheating. I have restarted it 3 times in the past two days.

Certain apps use more resources than others, and this can cause the device to heat up. Apps that are known to be power-hungry include games, video streaming apps, and GPS navigation apps.
To Overcome this problem you can do the following
~ Close Power Hungry Apps
~ Update Your Phone to Latest Software
~ Disable Background refresh
~ Use an external fan or cooling device
~ Reduce screen brightness
~ Disable location services
Did your phone stop getting warm/hot? And is the battery life better in comparison to before hard-resetting?
Ditto for me. My XR overheated the odd time but this new IPHONE 14 PLUS. is constantly overheating. Plan to return it. Unfortunately I have also spent money on OTTERBOX cover and a screen plate.
My second 14 Pro is running cool.

How? Did yours fail the diagnostics? Apple doesn’t replace anything without their dumb diagnostics test showing a fail.

The same thing happened on my 14 Pro Max too; with a warning message that states the phone will charge when temp back to normal. Room temp is 60 F.
The phone doesn't need to be HOT when intact in any condition.
This only happened after the IOS update.
