[Resolved] Can't add Google Calendar to Mac Calendar - stuck loading after clicking "Google"
Hello!
I'm unable to add my Google Calendar to my Mac Calendar app.
Ways I've tried:
- Open System Preferences.
- Choose "Internet Accounts".
- Click the + to get to the "Add account" UI.
- Click "Google".
- This window opens, and is stuck on the loading screen forever:
Or through Calendar itself:
- Open Calendar app.
- Calendar > Add account...
- New "add account" window appears with title "Choose a Calendar account provider..." > Google > Continue button
- "Add account" window changes shape and becomes this, and is stuck on loading forever:
I'm on Mac 12.2.1, but this has been happening for several versions now.
My default browser is Chrome, version 106.0.5249.103 (Official Build) (arm64).
My Google account has two-factor authentication, but I don't see how that could be a factor - it would be absurd if that was an obstacle to syncing calendars!
Can anyone help me? Has this happened to you, and how did you solve it?
If you don't know how to solve it, can you tell me how to report this as a bug to Apple?
Thank you in advance, everyone!
Edit: Resolved. Fix: Changed my default browser to something else and then changed it back to Chrome again, and now it works. :) It got stuck because it couldn't work out which browser to use for logging into the Google account, and there was no error message to inform me of that.
