I cannot voice dictate and I get a mic symbol with an x on it when I press the mic icon on imessage. Cannot voice dictate in other places such as in notes or to do a browser search. My mic does work because people can hear me on a call.

Same issue - Appears to be an apple bug - problem has appeared over the past couple of days. Tried the above recommendations - problem persists. Just now updated to ios 16.0.3. No change.

Just called about this…. No help. Been 2 weeks.
Tried that - re-recorded Siri. No improvement. The fix is reported to be in the next IOS update... We'll see.
Thank you for the recommendation - that fixed Siri, but dictation still will not work in iMessenger or the Notes app :(

ugh- same! After the last update. I’ve tried the Siri suggestion didn’t work.
How do I do this?
I have tried all of these suggestions and dictation is still not working.
Cleared Siri and dictation history. Changes the language to UK and relearned Siri. Changed back to US and relearned Siri.
Everything works now, but mic icon still has x.
