iPhone Battery Drain iOS 16.0.3

Hi there,

I am using an iPhone 13 Pro Max and I have been experiencing a rapid battery drain since the iOS 16.03. update. At times the temperature increases while the phone is ideal. Is anyone else having this issue?

MacAfee security for T-Mobile was using 71% of my battery on the background. So I deleted the app and now my phones battery is is stable. So go to your setting and battery and see why app is hogging your battery and delete it until the app is updated

Cell service was not an issue when used with properly configured carrier towers; in fact those users had fewer drops than ever before.

Sadly, carriers are often loathe to spend the money to send out crews to address those issues, especially when their simulation software says there is no problem. 🤷‍♂️

As far as the battery drain, if it has been more than 48 hours since you installed 16.0.3, what does Settings -> Battery show has been the source of the excessive battery usage?

If it's Mail, how big are your mailboxes? A mailbox with tens of thousands of messages may take days to reindex.

Just did the update from 15.7 to 16.0.3 and phone is draining bad. Weird thing is I barely use my phone since I’m always on my iPad.

How did you update to iOS 16.0.3? The current version of iOS is 16.1. 16.0.3 should no longer be an option. If that's what you're seeing, there's something else amiss. Do you have a beta profile installed?

Reels are high resolution video clips being streamed over the Internet by an application (Facebook) which has been known to be somewhat of a battery hog for years now. (Facebook used to be really, really concerned about knowing your location, hitting Location Services for updates as often as navigation apps like Maps or Waze, but it's become somewhat better about it.)

Other than fast action arcade games, the Facebook and TikTok apps have historically been two of the biggest battery users on iOS along with WhatsApp, though the latter isn't as popular in the US as it is abroad.

Instagram can use a lot too, but it's more bursty as a lot of IG content is still stills.
