iPhone 14 notification problems

Do any of you have an Apple Watch? I found out that if you have the watch and your phone is locked the notifications will come through your watch instead. I had my volume off on my watch so I did not realize that. I found this article : Notifications on your Apple Watch - Apple Support

Yes have an Apple Watch and have tested with watch on dock and my phone gets notifications again. Definitely seems to be an issue with watch and phone notifications not working correctly. Re the article, prior to new phone and iOS 16 had notifications working on both phone and watch. Should not be notifications only on watch if you have one!!!

Solved, well at least partly, time will tell. After looking at the Microsoft notifications that had not sounded an alert I saw that they came under the heading of 'Unknown senders' I then went into settings and saw that notifications for that category were not turned on, I turned it on and hey presto! if you will excuse the magic connotation, it worked. whether the other non alerting text will now be rectified I will have to wait and see, but I think this is the answer. See my reply below, after the same problem I realised that in settings alerts for 'unknown senders' as not turned on. For some reason the phone is choosing who is an unknown sender, but no problem, the alerts now sound after I turned that setting on. I hope this helps you.

Try going to notifications and turn on notification for 'Unknown senders' this cured my problem . hope it helps

My iPhone 14 pro erratically shows notifications in the Lock Screen .

some days I get lots but then go 3/4 days with no notifications .

it worked perfectly well with my iPhone 11 Pro but not with the 14 .

same as other users have noted - No sound notifications when locked. When unlocked I get all the notifications... Exactly the time I don't need the loud notifications. Tried all the suggested fixes. Reset phone and wiped settings etc. Completely up to date with latest ios. Seems to be iphone 14 pro / pro max issue?

I can get notifications on the lock screen but no sound in most cases - very erratic. I did a total reset of the phone and it would work at first then it would go back to silent notifications.

Same with my iPhone 14 pro. WTH Apple? I am waiting for important messages and getting no notifications.

I get notifications on the lock screen, I click and get to go to the top one. But then I have no way to get back to notifications to get to the rest of them. Very frustrating, and if you ask siri she just tells you what the notifcations are but won't open them for you to view, How in the world do I view my notifications on the new iPhone 14?

Siri won't open them, I can't find a notification center app to open, it is just missing.

I spent 45 minutes with Apple support - we thought that maybe the phone had to be face down to receive notifications. Not the case. Very annoying as I have to keep looking at my phone to see if I have a reply. Hopefully something will be fixed as it is an apple issue.

I have the same issue with the BRAND NEW IPHONE 14 PRO.. the notification sounds work and then they do not.. Even when I go into settings and go through the exercise of checking the sounds they do not work even though checked. No settings were changed since they worked. No sounds work either when on Apple Car Play.

You would think that Apple could figure this issue out! What is the point of offering notifications if they DO NOT WORK? You pay a lot of money for a new model iPhone and you can't even get notifications. Apple customers deserve better than this.

Will this problem ever be solved ! like what's the use of $1800 device that cant show me my notifications , i thought this problem would have been solved by the first update but nothing happened !! i keep relying on my 2016 Samsung for my daily use , what a disappointment .

I have the same issues, just upgraded to the iPhone 14 Pro Max and no longer get sound notifications from the likes of the BBC News app.

I still get the notifications on the older phone, but nothing on the iPhone 14. Settings etc. all correct. Seems to be a bug as there are so many people complaining of the same issue?
