HomePod mini stolen. Unsure of what to do.

I wasn’t logged into my HomePod mini when it was stolen and so I have not been able to locate it using find my or by any other means. I’m not sure what to do about the situation but here’s the information regarding my HomePod Mini (which is still under coverage with AppleCare+).

I was living at home and was asked to move out and so I had got in touch with an old friend of mine that had a problem with her landlord who I agreed to help her with the rent that she owed her landlord. After a week or so of living there and fixing up trailer I was asleep and was awakened by the voice of an unfamiliar and very angry sounding woman that was trying to help my friend (allegedly) who was not able to get out of her room and talk with me about her lady friend who was instructing me to leave immediately and to go back home. The woman seemed to be a drug user and was not being rational about the situation she claimed I was “free loading” off of my friend and she was just tired of people using her friend’s kindness and that was it. I was very frustrated but I could not get my friend to respond to the texts or calls when I called her and I had this problem with her friend that I had never met before and it was the middle of the night when she burst in and began screaming at the top of her lungs at me. She created a whole bunch of drama that was getting attention from neighbors that were trying to make sense of the situation and watching from afar but all of that did not make a difference to them and I was under the impression that I would be able to get in touch with the person I had agreed to help me and let me live there the following day so I grabbed my laptop and my book sack along with the few things I had in front of me and left hoping that the next day it would all get sorted out and I should have grabbed the rest of my belongings but did not have the opportunity to because of the rude woman that was screaming to me that I had to leave immediately chose to slam the door and lock it behind me after I walked outside to the driveway so that I could use my phone to call someone to pick me up. I have no transportation and so I was picked up by another person and have tried many times since then to reach Ashley (the friend who’s trailer I was briefly living at) to no avail as she has ignored my text/calls and Facebook messages that I’ve sent her.

This all seems desperately unfortunate, but I don't think there is much that your fellow users can usefully suggest. HomePod mini doesn't feature in the FindMy system. You should probably change the password to your Apple ID just in case the account was signed into on the HomePod. I've no idea if AppleCare+ covers you for loss in this type of situation, you would have to ask Apple. You may or may not want to discuss the issue with the police.
