S3 is stuck "can't verify your watchOS update because you're not connected to the Internet"

I have an S5 and iPhone 12 Pro Max, trying to update to watchos 9, Watch gets to preparing the says unable to verify because I not connected to the internet, rebooted both, nothing, unpaired watch, then repaired, still says the same error, both phone and Watch are connected to the network, also tried a different network and still the same error.

Exactly the same problem here.

Did they solved it? Whats the move? Please. I'm having troubles too.

Same problem here. I tried to pair it with a 12pro and a 13 pro. It always gets stuck to the "Preparing..."

Called Apple support today about the Apple Watch Series 3 problem with the verification. They said they have not finished it and told me to wait till tomorrow since there engineers only work mon-fri.

Now it is finally updating with iOS 16.1!!

After the message of matthewcs I tried updating to IOS 16.1 as well but the watch update is still stuck...

I have a 42mm Series 3 Cellular Watch I can't update the device display updated version is 8.7.1 Check this matter this so many users have this error.
