I received by trade-in kit a few days ago, but my new phone has been delayed in shipping and is still in China. Does the 14-day trade-in policy apply when the trade-in kit is received or shipped? I'm concerned my new phone will not be here in time for my trade-in to be valid.
the period will start when your new device is shipped.
Then I suggest you check with Apple support. Or, if you can, back up your old phone and have to ready to go right after you get the new one. You can then set up the new one from your backup.
My new device was already shipped, it's just delayed in transit. It was shipped on October 14th, and I received my Trade-In kit on October 17th. There is no estimated delivery date for my new device as of right now.
