Lightning to HDMI no longer working with IOS16 update

If I would’ve known that my white lightning cable was going to be useless after updating. I would’ve never updated because I need to have that cable working with my laptop for work purposes. And it’s not acceptable from Apple to do this.

My Apple Lightning to HDMI adapter suddenly started working tonight with my iPhone 14 pro running iOS 17.0.3. It’s also working with my iPhone 11 running I was 16.7. Give it a try people, I hope you’ll have the same result.

My tests conclude you don't read before you speak. It was mentioned very clearly and repeatedly i used the official apple adapter far to many times for anyone to miss.

Please stop messing up this thread with useless obfuscation.

Any USB-C ipad or iphone works fine. Thats not the issue. Its the Apple official LIGHTENING HDMI adapter that no long works as sokd and promised by Apple. Wifi connection does nothing to fix lightening Apple adapter. Plus when in use -needing any wifi defeats the entire purpose of downloading content to play later.

Apple - its reprehensible you still haven't fixed this year and half long broken Apple adapter hardware issue thats still effecting millions of paid customers.

man, its tough reading what you and your mom have been going through. I was hoping to read that you had the same “suddenly working again experience” I had. But instead, I’m hoping the reason for your silence is because caregiving is very time-consuming, and that your mom is doing well and getting stronger every day.

iOS 17 and the Apple HDMI - Lightning adapter doesn’t connect via any devices. Basically this adapter is a piece of junk from what I read online. Why are they still selling it? Are there solutions to getting it to connect to my TV?

I have only used Apple products since smartphones. I bought the 14 pro max and it has been nothing but problems. I also am unable to stream through the apply certified hdmi connnector. I have access to an iPhone 11 that streams with no problems, so it’s not anything that Apple specialist have suggested. This needs to be taken care of by Apple. If not, I’m getting an android.

HDMI lighting cable doesn’t work anymore I played one movie and it played great then got back to the hotel room today and it wouldn’t geeze wish I would have known that before I spent all that money on it thanks apple for having the consumer in mind!!🤬

My Apple Lightning Digital AV adapter does not work with iOS version 17.4.1 on my iPhone 12 mini. Has this bug not been addressed yet? I have verified it is not YouTube TV blocking the video and it is not the adapter itself.

Fortunately I have a very old iPad that is running iOS 10.3.3 and it streams video from YouTube TV with my current adapter.

I certainly would like to be able to use my iPhone 12 mini to stream since it is much faster and doesn’t buffer like the old iPad.

Has anyone found a fix or work around to these Apple updates? Has anyone from Apple indicated that this issue still exists for many users?

I have been streaming from various different platforms with no issues I still hear the audio but my screen is completely blank if I wanted a audio book I would listen to one I don’t want to hear a movie playing as one

Just like everyone else. Lightning to cable and tv only works on some things. My Dish DVR recordings will not show on hotel tv. We just bought and paid almost a hundred dollars for a brand new Apple lightning device and a new premium high speed HDMI cable because we thought it was a problem with the old one . Not so. Hulu works. HBO works, etc. But dish sometimes works but not recordings or Prime Video . It’s frustrating that we can’t watch our shows since we travel all over the US for work. Also we’ve also had Apple smart phones and IPads for years . We’re paying for expensive equipment from Apple and cannot watch unless we are home. Mine stopped working with the newest update from Apple just like everyone else is complaining about. Can Apple not correct the problem they have created for thousands of your faithful customers?

However my iPhone X with the new update (16) works with Apple lightning AV adapter, but iPad with latest update doesn’t work!!
