Ventura is not saving printing presets (fully)

I'm on 13.3.1, and am having similar problems with saving Double-sided options in presets with my HP Color Laserjet Pro M454dw. But it's even worse than that: if the dialog box says that double-sided is OFF, the printer still prints double-sided - I can't get any single-sided prints. So it's more than just a problem with saving presets.

Anybody know when/whether this is going to be resolved?

I really really hope u are right. because I'm going crazy. and I'm not sure I believe it because if they know this HUGE problem why wouldn't they just release this fix first.

I've lost hope. begging and begging. and I don't believe it's fixed in 13.5 cuz if they know about the problem and they know the fix. why don't they release a fix NOW! I really don't know what to do. I'm so looooost. I moved my whole office to Mac Studios about 2 years ago. this problem is driving me insane and all my workers insane and it's taking up hours and hours of our precious time. we are 100% losing a lot of time = money because of this!!! I'm lost and sad almost to tears. I cant understand this at all!!!! and I've spoken to apple many times, they don't even let me speak to an engineer and show them what's going on. But the senior advisors I've spoken to have recognized that this is an apple problem, as I've showed them that this happens in Notes and other apple apps.

I just upgraded to Sonoma and still can't get presets to work or print settings not to revert randomly back to default settings for my Epson 3880. I even saw that Epson made a new driver for Sonoma and excitedly cleared all my printers and drivers and installed the new one.... exactly the same issues I've been having since they updated the GUI. Insanely frustrated. Did 13.5 really fix the print dialog issues for folks? I never saw any improvement with my workflow. Even bought an external rip, but it still relies on the epson driver I guess because settings still won't stay put. I have to do all my critical "professional" work on a 2012 laptop running Mojave....

In my case at least, either custom presets or print job presets don't save correctly the settings: (almost) all settings are NOT saved in the presets.

Apple, please fix this!

Also, rather than having to scroll to get the various sections of the printing dialog windows (vertical list of the various sections), I really think it would be much more ergonomic to present the sections in horizontally organized panes/tabs!

Same issue here. Saved presets used to work just fine until Ventura. Now it's a frustration needing to reset each setting for each print job. A fix would be wonderful!

The original post was about paper feed, and the comment about this being a vendor driver issue refers to that, not duplex. Duplex is a different issue, and, yes, it's AirPrint and vendor drivers.

sorry, spoke too soon. settings still don't stick and change randomly. Apple, Epson, Adobe, whomever's fault this is, please fix it soon. you can do it, that's why we buy your products, right?

Could amyone tell me what the difference is bestween twe two possebilties of saving presets as there was only one in Monterey en before

Still not fixed in macOS 13.2.1.

Come on Apple, this is ridiculous now give me the code and I'll fix this in ten minutes it's trivial, please fix it!
