I’m not at the Mac to check if I get the same, but if you’re already going to the file to get the path, you could just drag the file into the open file dialog.

It's an excellent alternative solution, especially cooperate with Alfred or Spotlight.
Paste shortcut didnt work in the Go-To dialog.
