File stuck uploading to iCloud

So I have the file, 164 kilobytes, that is now on my 1 gbps fiber optic connection uploading like... 5 hours now? When it will finally download? I need this file on other computer with iCloud enabled.

What I did was turning off syncing and turning it on back again, restarting the Mac I even changed the name of the file to reflect reality. I think it will be faster for me to use keyboard on the other computer to copy the file contents than wait for iCloud to do it.

Yes, I know that I can use email, iMessage, AirDrop, USB stick and million of other options, but I would like to use this paid service that I have.

Is it normal?

I found a Solution for me.

Go to system settings and turn off icloud sync.

You`ll be asked if you want to mantain a copy of the files on the mac or delete everything.

I deleted everything.

When i turned on the problem was solved.

My previous post was removed, so I rewritten it here:

You must be happy that it worked for you. I am also a very happy Apple products user. I believe they are the best, and software is flawless. Maybe you are paying Apple bigger amount than I am, and they make this work for you.

For me OneDrive from Microsoft and Dropbox work like a charm and greatest paid iCloud doesn't work - it is absolutely my fault somehow, please help.

Any other guesses how to make this thing work? Now I edited a file on iPad and it isn't current on iMac. That allows me to enter my data again, which is great, as entering the same data many times makes me remember it. I will also re-enter it on my iPhone and MacBook. It is great that Apple also just announced to raise my payment for this greatest working service. I am happy that I can now pay more for allowing me to enter the same data over and over again on all my Apple connected devices :).

I am not using VPN of any kind - I am scared that it might hurt my beautiful little $1200 computer. I am only relying on Apple services, because they are the best.

To the moderators: I've read what you sent me very thoroughly and I made sure I don't break any rule, so I expect this post to be not removed.

Here is what I got:

I confirm, that this is post about technical issue (iCloud not syncing), I am polite (very polite!), I sought the questions and it looks like others have it too (like JanickVini few posts above), I will happily mark the answer as helpful when the answer will help me and I avoided speculation and rumours completely.

Thank you for your cooperation and have a wonderful day :) :) :).

Hello Piotr Kowal,

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. To troubleshoot the slow syncing progress of your files in iCloud Drive, we recommend to disable any third party security software and VPN connection on your Mac. This can possibly cause your Mac to slowly sync the files to iCloud Drive. In addition, let's ensure that your Mac is updated to the latest version of macOS Ventura 13. This helps provide software improvements that can help. Here's how:

Use Software Update
Before installing new software, it's a good idea to back up your Mac.

1. From the Apple menu  in the corner of your screen:
- Choose System Settings. Then click General in the sidebar, and Software Update on the right.
- Or choose System Preferences. Then click Software Update.

2. If Software Update finds new software, click the Update Now or Upgrade Now button to install it.
Software Update windowe

3. Enter your administrator password, if asked. During installation, your Mac might restart, and you
might see a progress bar or blank screen several times.

If Software Update says that your Mac is up to date, then no new software is currently available for your Mac model. Software Update shows only updates and upgrades that are compatible with your Mac.

This information is outlined here and may possibly help you: Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support

Kind regards.

I understand you are trying to help, but I really can't see what I can do. Yes, it seems like files in the Desktop (those screenshots, now three of them, including the below one) and Documents can't be uploaded. But opening Documents I don't see this beautiful iCloud icon next to any file, so I am not sure which file is it. Really, I don't know how to do it. And now, shouldn't those screenshots be uploaded? Are those screenshots done with Apple screenshot tool, saved to my Ventura Desktop are not good to be uploaded to Apple iCloud?

Sorry for my tone, but actually this problem I have for years now, it is third computer with the same issue, Apple support don't know what to do, second line support just ignored 5 hours of talking and sending logs... Really this biggest IT company in the world can't solve uploading few kilobytes of data to their paid service...? (look at my first post, somehow that file got uploaded after few days).

Finishing the call after 1:01:48, did all the exercises I was asked by the agent and we just disconnected without any solution.

Now counting 6 hours of talking to Apple Support without any solution to this issue.

Anyone has any idea, how to make the Apple Software Great Again? I really appreciate your help as it seems like Apple can't help with Apple paid product.

I never changed any read/write permissions.

I don't want to connect over a cable to sync 146 KB file while having 1 gbps internet connectivity. It is easier and faster for me to save the same file into Microsoft OneDrive or Dropbox and after 3 seconds I have it on another device, while iCloud is still uploading the file for 5 hours. Do you really think that has anything to do with my network or whatever?

Clicking on the X in the upload bubble does nothing. I can click it a thousand times. That's Apple software quality, not my fault.

Fun fact: everything synchronized finally. 146 KB took... 5 hours or so. That's the power of Apple! The files get in sync finally! Praise the Lord!
