AirPods Pro 2 case is draining battery without using the AirPods

As previously I’m booked in at the Genius Bar at my local Apple Store next week, where firstly they exchanged the case, second time the pods, and last time a full replacement product. Will update next week if I get another replacement or of any further information with regard firmware updates etc

I have had my AirPods Pro 2nd generation for 3 weeks and see exactly the same, overnight the case battery drain about 15% per night. I still have my old 1st generation AirPods and they do not do this.

I have already tried to reset the AirPods, and from searching online it appears that this has been a widespread problem for the 2nd gen for at least 2 months.

I should have learned my lesson with the 1st generation replacements ANC crackling problem.

Side by side with my new AirPods Pro 2nd gen (that I have had for only 1 month) I still have my old AirPods Pro 1st gen that are 3-years old (which has that widespread crackle sound Apple will not fix).

Leaving them both unused on my desk over the weekend, the new 2nd gen drained from 100% to 70%, whilst the 3-year-old case maintained their charge.

This requires a fix or a refund soon.

I called Apple and they seem very unsure how to handle this issue. I'm installing iOS 16.3 on my iPhone right now in case that helps. I lose roughly 20% overnight without any use of these things. It's not like these are their first AirPods and I fond it just a bit frustrating that they seem to be so lost as to why this is happening.

Having done significant research on the internet, I tried ALL of the solutions proposed before calling Apple. Once I made that clear to them, they suggested I unpair them from my iPhone and pair them to another device, so I paired them to my wife's iPhone -- same phone as mine so why would that make any difference?? Nothing changed.

It's very frustrating to get something new only to then have to struggle with problems to make it work as intended. Any way I can be put on their payroll as a product tester???

It's only been less than a week since I've gotten my set of Airpod Pro Gen 2 but I noticed that the case has been draining battery for no apparent reason. Airpods are at 100% capacity but there is still a noticeable drain on the case. Similarly as how other users are experiencing, the case is being drained overnight by 20-30% when it's not in use (bearing in mind the airpods are at 100%). Pretty frustrating as the battery life isn't as advertised / claimed by Apple.

My 4th pair went back to the Apple Store this week, the options given was

were to stick with them in hope of some kind of fix or a full refund but no offer of another replacement pair. I took the refund, will wait and see if there’s a proper fix before deciding on my next pair of earphones.

After updating to the new firmware about 18 hours ago and turning "Find My" back on, my AirPods Pro 2 case and buds are STILL at 100%. There was no mention of fixing this in the firmware update, but I'm happy it's finally working properly.

I have the same issue. Definitely not getting anywhere near the 30 hours advertised.

I have the same issue and noticed it when charging my case on an Apple Watch charging puck. The case charges slower than the drain so it lost battery while on the AW charger

I notice similar problems. Definitely not getting 30 hours. I use anc 50%volume and no spatial audio. Tried resetting and reconnecting several times. Hope this will be resolved soon.

It took the firmware forever to update. I had to physically plug in the case. But no drain so far.

the case will start to drain eventually , just do not use the AirPods for 2-3 days, then you will find out. That’s what happened with mine.

The case discharges for no reason overnight. It's been only about a month since I got mine. My Airpods Pro 1 never did that and provided good battery life in standby. Please help as I am not able to get an optimum listening time from the current ones.

Same here. Got battery drain after update to the last version of firmware. Already tried swich off Find my, tried to reset and other popular recommendation. Nothing helps me. It is so bad user experience. This is my first headphones from A and I faced with low quality product. My other IEMs from china (which cost 30 dollars) works without any problems.

I have the exact same issue as everyone else here. When can we expect a solution from Apple? It’s been over a month since the latest firmware update.. You’d think they would fix this asap, since it’s a pretty big deal breaking bug.
