new icloud terms and conditions

Faithfully, upgraded to the new macOS Ventura.

Upon completion of the upgrade, I am told that to use iCloud on this computer I must accept the new T&S.

The next page shows A and B of said T&S which we are told we must read before agreeing. But, there is no option to decline.

This is absolutely outrageous. An acceptance of T&S is only meaningful if one is also allowed not to accept, i.e. if there is an actual choice.

The only option is to Agree or Cancel, which is not the same as disagreeing. Thereafter, the notification continues to show as unresolved and once in a while, a pop-up message pops up over and over..Clicking on 'x' to make it go away only launches the whole thing all over again.

I'm really quite disgusted with how Apple approaches getting consent. This is pure coercion. Apple can keep their iCloud and stuff it. This constant erosion of our own rights and ability to control our own computers is what so much of the criticism Apple faces. Whether it's our inability to change or repair our own hardware devices or on the software side including now this.

Seriously, how can they ask for consent and the only option is to Agree or cancel and keep getting harrassed over it, if we do choose to cancel to bypass the question?

Mac mini, macOS 10.15
