HP Easy Scan

I have been using Easy Scan for several years and never had a problem scanning from my printer then saving the document to my desktop. Since I upgraded to OS13, I can scan the document from my printer but when I save it to the desktop is delivers a blank page. I can see the scan on the Easy Scan screen but it does not transfer to a readable PDF document. It is blank

Can you help???

MacBook Pro 15″, OS X 10.11

Their updates seem to be lagging behind— see the AppStore for version history...

Is the Image Capture application still present in Ventura? It can frequently do scanning when others fail.

All of these third party vendors have made scanning software available to various incarnations of the Mac OS, and some may support your HP when Image Capture does not and HP does not:

Silverfast (for Mac OS X 10.5 Intel and above)

Vuescan(for Mac OS X 10.5 unknown platform and above)

Macdevcenter.com's coverage of Mac OS X native scanners that are PowerMac compatible back in 2003

Slashdot has revealed that some

open source SANE developers (Version 2.9 and earlier support PowerMac) have made these these scanners available to the Mac.

I have been using an HP OfficeJet Pro 8720 for a few years now. Since the Ventura upgrade scanning is not working properly.

My usual go-to workflow for scanning multiple pages was to load them on the feeder, and on the printer touch pad select to scan to computer. I could select if I wanted to use double sided or single sided mode, whether to save to PDF, and the type of scan (mono, colour, DPI etc)

Super easy for doing multi-page documents.

Since the upgrade it is shooting blanks over to the Mac.

It seems to be using Easy Scan, which I hope will be updated by HP soon for this to work. Falling back to use HP Smart is much more clunky. It was so easy just loading the pages on the scanner, pressing a button on the touchpad and then the document showing up perfectly on the Mac.

On your Mac, open Easy Scan, load the document in the feeder, go to Easy Scan Preferences, (Scan to Computer, Save asPDF

then got to presets, Color/PDF/Desktop)

Click on Scan

Send to Folder, check the prefix )(Scan Name)

Where: Desktop

Format - PDF- Searchable

A readable scan should appear on your desktop

Another way is to send to your printer instead of Folder. Open the print dialog box and save to your desktop as a PDF.

Both work

Good Luck
