Thank you very much for taking the time to reply - As you say "Photos can’t be transferred directly from iCloud to an external hard drive", that's right, but they can be transferred (1,000 a a time, in a zip file) to the "Downloads" folder then they can be copied to an external hard drive. But to transfer 155,000 photos, I need to do 155 times a selection of 1,000 photos, download the created zip file to my Mac and then transfer these 155 zip files to an external hard drive.
If I want to do that, it's because the photos that are currently in my Photo Library are "optimized", and therefore are NOT the original photos, but a "light" version of the original. Keeping the originals on my local drive takes 400GB and I don't have that much real estate anymore.
I want to have the "ORIGINALs" on an external hard drive so I can use them with a different app (for example).
And as I DON'T have the ORIGINALS on my local drive, I cannot copy them from my current Photos Library. Obviously all the solutions you are presenting are good and I would already have implemented them if only I had the originals on my local drive.
So to go back to my question: is there any way to download all my original photos (with HIGH RES) to my local drives, while avoiding to repeat 155 times the selection of 1,000 photos at a time???
Thank you in advance,
Eric
