Updated to Ventura and now iCloud drive put desktop folder to sync directly
After updating to Ventura, iCloud Drive put my desktop folder to sync directly. There is no way to pause it, even when I am using tethering (implying limited bandwidth). When I try to deactivate, and choose no backup, Mac deleted all my files on my desktop, even when they were created before Mac automatically start syncing this folder.
Also this comes with all the notification telling me to spend more money on iCloud storage. In my use case it is all chaos and no benefit.
