Since the search bar is now on the bottom every time i mistakenly swipe down the screen to search. My background screen and apps are frozen and blurry. The only way to fix it. Is turning on and off the phone.

You can disable the new Search button in:
Settings>Home Screen>Show on Home Screen = OFF.
When done, restart your device.
