Will the new Apple TV 4K 3rd generation support hi-res lossless audio?

Save your money. The correct answer to this question is NO the new Apple TV 4K, 3rd generation DOES NOT offer “Hi-Res Lossless audio (ALAC up to 24-bit/192 kHz)” as an option. You will find this offered on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac, but not the new Apple TV introduced in November 2022. The best you can do is CD quality (i.e. Lossless) which is not the same as “Apple Digital Master” Hi-Res Audio. I wasted money buying the new Apple TV 4K after being told in the Apple Store that it DID support Apple’s Hi-Res audio. Very dissatisfied with the way Apple has rolled out this Hi-Res feature.

I see what you mean they just deleted my whole post simply because I poked a little fun at Apple. They don't really deserve my loyalty anymore but I do still love most of their products.

I've ordered a WiiM Mini Streamer for about 90€ Black Friday price. It has Amazon Music build in (and much more) and hi-res out up to 24/192 - I will test it. ... :-)
@ntinti - I was looking at the WiiM, too - but since it can’t stream DSD files I chose to pass…
Apple does license Apple Music to Sonos and HiFi Rose. Maybe others.
Not understanding the need to respond with exactly what I just posted. To repeat myself - I didn’t say they played HiRes. There’s no “except”.
Theres an app that solves the MacOS bitrate switching problem called Lossless Switcher. Should be the top result in google.
