How to Disable iPhone Wallpaper Change from Lock Screen?

So apparently, I’m touching the Lock Screen too much/too long.

There is no way to turn this feature off at the moment, but you can send feedback directly to Apple here: Product Feedback - Apple

Are you kidding me! We are on the Apple Support Community forum! Hahahaha! Apple wants us to fill out a comment card, too? Y'all are changing and not for the better. I can't believe Apple would pay to host a forum for SUPPORT, then refuse to look at it. I filled out your "feedback" card, but why don't you just send me an email address where I can link an engineer to this page? That seems far more reasonable.

Why would you make different ways for your customers to report issues with a product? I use Apple because normally, and historically, they did the best and made my life easier. That's a terrible response to a long line of posts. I hope you don't work for them and are just trying to be helpful to the group.

Why is this an option? Every time I look at my phone it looks different. I learned I fidget and flip my phone a lot more than I thought I did. Going into the settings menu was never complicated or time consuming. Why do I now have to close the wallpaper selector every time I need to do anything on my phone. This entirely ruins one big plus with iPhone. I can simplify everything so it is easy to read and not overstimulating.

It’s just annoying.

@jlo1977 -- Actually, no. This feature makes is possible to change the wallpaper while the phone is LOCKED. Meaning that even those of us with passwords are having this issue. I had my pocket/thigh end up in the change wall paper thing due to raise to wake tripping in my pocket even though the phone was "locked". Whoever at Apple keeps putting interaction crap on the freaking LOCK screen such as wallpaper changes and timer cancels should be fired. Like seriously, what part of "LOCKED" is not understood?

TBH I’m not 199% if it’s an option that’s based on the iOS or if it’s that combined with iPhone version or what

It is a function of iOS 16. My iPhone 11 Pro has these features (I happen to find them useful).

Apple doesn't read here in this user-to-user forum for feedback or suggestions. You can, however, let them know your thoughts here:

APPLE, if you are going to shove such useless and annoying features down our throats, AT LEAST GIVE US THE OPTION TO EASILY DISABLE IT.

I suspect they are more likely to take any suggestions seriously if they do not involve shouting or insults.

If a user on the Apple Support Community does not have an Apple logo underneath their name, followed by a role, they most likely do not work for Apple. This community is mainly made up of people just like you, volunteering to help fellow Apple customers. Likewise, I can assure you that I don't work for Apple, so I won't be able to escalate this situation.

If you would like to, you can always contact Apple Support directly and voice your concerns to them. (Official Apple Support)
