There is no way to turn this feature off at the moment, but you can send feedback directly to Apple here: Product Feedback - Apple
Please, offer the option for we disable the long press to customize in lock screen of iphone. Many times a day i accidentally long press the home screen when unlocking the phone and it is very annoying. This happen with me and all my others family that use iphone.
I’ve been searching trying to find out how to change it but I have no clue
i change it by accident like 5 times a day it’s so annoying and sometimes it changes to the customization one and when I check my phone i have to get out of it to use it
i hope this new iOS update will patch it
This feature is utterly infuriating. I’ve been an iPhone guy since the beginning, and this is the first time I’ve seriously considered getting rid of it. Why the ability to customize your wallpaper from the lock screen was considered useful at all is baffling, but not including a way to disable the feature is mind-boggling.
Please can you stop this feature i just upgraded from iPhone 6 plus i thought it would be great but not only the app screen doesn’t rotate But this annoying wallpaper change is making me regret the upgrade
The feature to change the wallpaper on locked screen is annoying and unnecessary. I also hate the feature of pairing the Lock Screen & Background images. I have never and will never want them to be the same and it is so cumbersome to make them two different photos now. I don’t want to have to pick my already existing background every time I want to change my Lock Screen. Please change this!!
Seriously:
Dear Apple:
It is LITERALLY called a LOCK screen. You should be able to at LEAST configure it to disable anything on it because it is LOCKED. I don't want ANYTHING on my phone accessible when it is LOCKED except for the ability to UNLOCK it. The obsession with adding crap to the LOCK screen is to the point of being absurd. In any case, last night my phone decided to f'ing change the wallpaper in my pocket by way of my thigh pressing the screen because derp. (smdh).
This new “feature” gets in my way at least 10-20x a day. I never want to change my wallpaper but so often I’m just trying to open my phone and the prompt to “customize” my wallpaper is in the way….
maybe because my phone is not locked with a password or face recognition? It’s so annoying!
Same here. Every new iPhone I’ve purchased, starting with the 11pro, brings me more and more misery. This failure of a feature has me on my last nerve with Apple phones. I’m committed to sending feedback everyday until it’s fixed. Can’t believe it still hasn’t been addressed after 7 months.
I just ran into this problem myself, barely found my way to my one and only wallpaper. Why would Apple spend time developing features like this? Nothing better to do? Busy hands?
Still no way to disable this “feature”?
That’s not my problem. The idea that I would want to change my wallpaper from the Lock Screen is absurd. But what makes it infuriating is how it keeps getting triggered to change by accident and so easily. I had a dynamic setup where my Lock Screen and wallpaper were before and after pictures. Now they’re gone forever because of the horrendous controls for this annoying feature. I took my phone out of my pocket and that alone completely destroyed what I had done. It’s not something I can replicate easily it required very careful positioning. I want this “feature” removed or at least the ability to turn it off. I will never want to quick swap my wallpaper NEVER! This is not a “feature” I would ever have even considered something that I would want let alone be a good idea to implement.
Yeah, I have never wanted to change my wallpaper, ever. It has zero importance to me. I realize the reason most people probably don’t have a problem with this stupid feature is that they have their phones password-protected so you can’t open the phone enough to change the wallpaper by accident. I would guess most of the people having problems don’t have a password like myself. So my phone screen is always vulnerable to being pushed. This happens to me 10 to 30 times a day. I’m going insane. Every update I hold my breath that they have let us disable this stupid feature.
It’s infuriating!
Agree with the rest. I don't care about changing the wallpaper. I do it maybe once per year. This feature is incredibly annoying because I'll grab my phone out of my pocket for a quick photo and the Lock Screen is half-changed. I've missed so many photos because of this useless "feature." Make it a toggle if there is anyone that actually wants to do this.
I wonder how many people need to ask for this "feature" to be removed before Apple decides to move on this?
It is a shame to spend development time on crap like this while so many other issues are waiting for their attention.

Actually, Apple doesn't read here in this user-to-user forum for feedback or suggestions. Use the link avrum33 provided to you. It's the best way to let Apple know what's important to you. Pass the link on to anyone else with concerns. The more people who submit feedback, the more likely it is that the issue will become something Apple deals with.
I often try to press the lock screen camera or flashlight icon, miss the hit area slightly and open the wallpaper selection feature by accident. this is extremely annoying because when i'm using those shortcuts i'm usually in a bit of a hurry to turn on the camera or flashlight. i also find my phone wallpaper changed from unintended inputs in my pocket.
