why cant I de authorise a PC i dont own anymore

I recenly sold a PC cleaned the computer right down to the bios but now find its still authorized to my itunes account and I cant deauthorize it and replace it with a new laptop how is that possible not to be able to chose what computers are allowed to play music I have paid for. I cant even share it

You can.


You have to use the De-Authorise All option, to remove all computers, then Authorise the computer(s) that you have now. See the paragraph headed "If you need to deauthorize a computer that you don't have access to" in the article that you came from, linked in blue text at the top of this page.
