open recently deleted photos on imac

Ok using Ventura on iMac, go to photos. Click on recently deleted. screen says enter password. where? what password? I share album with my wife, so I have shared, personal, or both. they are uploaded to iCloud. I go to iCloud, they are there, but shouldn't you be able to undelete from photos especially if the are in personal photos? why would it say enter password and no place to enter password? also, can you turn the lock off?

It is a new feature in Ventura to protect your photos. If you are showing your photos to someone, and the person is accidentally or maliciously pressing the delete button and sending your photos to the Trash, or your cat is walking across your keyboard, they cannot empty the Recently Deleted without knowing your password.

You can disable this security feature, if you want in the Photos Settings. At the bottom of the Photos > Settings > General tab is an option to disable the password protection for the Hidden Photos and the Recently Deleted photos.

Yes, I agree, and that's why they do beta testing. when you are switching processors, from intel to apple, some things work on one but not the other, or like you said possible a conflict with programs. I do not run many 3rd party programs, onyx is the only cleaner I have that I run and never had a problem before. The problem is fixed now running os13.1. Hope to get a few more years out of this iMac. A few of my 3rd party programs

that I do run already changing to apple processors, and I like apples privacy programs, but causes problems on some web sites.

Here's another little glitch I just ran into old toad, see if you get the same result. Running stage manager with any program open ( I was using photos, but tested on other programs, same result). Opened up that programs help guide. Wanted to shrink it out of the way. it puts both the guide and app to stage manager side, then you cannot enlarge either. You have to close down stage manager, then they will both enlarge. Strange behavior. not sure which community would handle this?
