Magic Trackpad Lost Haptic Feedback after Monterey update

Same problem as this question, but with a Pro 15-inch retina MBP, Late 2015:

I've tried everything mentioned in that post and also tried deleting drivers from ~/Library/Preferences and nothing solves my issue. I know my Magic Trackpad is not broken because it works on my wife's machine which still has Catalina installed. This is clearly an MacOS bug.

Have there been any new solutions to this issue? Using a this Magic Trackpad without any haptic feedback is surprisingly painful and frustrating. Had to go back to using a mouse, which is not optimal for my setup.
