Old APPLE ID email signed into Find My?

I am trying to wipe one of my macbooks so my husband can use it. It is asking me to sign out of Find My, but it's using an old email (I changed my apple ID email a year ago) and of course, this doesn't exist anymore so the password will not work.

How do I sign out of Find My (even though it appears it is updated to my new apple ID email) and wipe this clean?

If necessary, if you are the original owner, contact Apple. Apple can remove the ID  if provided the required paperwork to include the original purchase receipt with the serial number on it.

You used to be able to take the device, the original purchase receipt with the serial number, and a photo ID to the nearest Apple Store (if it has reopened) and have them remove the ID. This may have changed, so call the store before going to make sure they can help.
