Append to a .pdf?

If I print a document to a .pdf, is there a way I can "append" to that .pdf? In other words, is there a way I can print a second document and have it automatically append to the first?

I'm trying to find a more efficient solution than printing each and then combining them.

No, you cannot. Appending PDFs via the application print panel is not supported.

What you can do is save each PDF separately. In the Finder press the cmd key and select each PDF. Then, you can control-click on the first PDF and from the secondary menu, choose Quick Actions > Create PDF. That will generate a new PDF on the Desktop with both PDFs appended.
