After Ventura upgrade, some apps not launching

I upgraded to Ventura (13.0.1) a few days ago. Most of my core apps (Mail, Safari, Reminders, Contacts, etc.) are working fine.

But several are not. In particular, today I discovered Keynote isn't working. It launches and gets to its splash screen, but as soon as I select either New Document or Open [Existing] Document, it opens the window then goes to a spinning beach ball.

Then I discovered ProPresenter (a third party app) is having similar issues. I launch it, and it hangs somewhere in the launch cycle, and never lets me do anything.

I also discovered Final Cut Pro was causing a kernel panic on launch, although I've found a temporary workaround for that.

Things I've tried: trashing the prefs of the relevant apps (from ~/Library/Preferences), used Disk Utility to run First Aid on my boot drive, and I've restarted the Mac multiple times.

All of this worked fine in Monterey. But it seems like the deeper I wade into Ventura, the more unsolvable problems I encounter.

Any tips? I urgently need to run Keynote and ProPresenter today. I've already posted in the Keynote forum including a processor sample taken during the hang.

To trouble shoot further you can:

—Test issue in another user (or guest user) account Change Users & Groups settings on Mac - Apple Support

This will tell you if it a universal issue or isolated to your user/admin account.

—SafeBoot How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies

Takes a bit longer to get to the login screen, does a quick disk repair before it fully boots up, and certain system caches get cleared and rebuilt, including dynamic loader cache, font cache, etc., third party system modifications and system accelerations are disabled.

Login and test. Reboot as normal and test. Caches get rebuilt automatically.

a reboot will put it back to normal mode.

This test will tell you if third party interference; extensions etc are not loaded in safe boot mode.

Uninstall all third party apps that are Cleaners/Optimizers/VPN/Anti-Virus

all known to cause issues on the macOS
