Screen time keeps turning off

We have been using screen time successfully for several years to manage our kids devices. Recently, I upgraded to the iPhone 14 pro and now all their screen time settings keep resetting and turn off almost daily. Downtime, content restrictions and time limits - all off. 4 kids - two iPhones and two iPads. Each has a different screen time passcode that were all reset. Software has been updated on each device. Still keeps happening. Please advise!

Guess what. Apple apparently has decided to reset screen time EVERY SINGLE DAY AT MIDNIGHT. It just finally showed up as a comment when you turn on app limits at the top of the screen. I’m beyond angry as no one has told costumers, Apple Support has no freaking clue this is a new “feature” and the entire reason for parental control on devices is for the parents to choose, NOT APPLE. I shouldn’t have to update my kids permissions, every single day!!!!!! Not happy at all.

Apple needs to correct this issue. I recently upgraded to a 14 Pro Max and my child’s screen time resets daily, turning off all previous settings that need a passcode to change. There’s a glitch when the downtime starts that allows him to use “one more minute”, which turns off all previous downtime settings. Hopefully, they will see these concerns from parents and fix it on an update.

Check my post above - it is working for me now after following those steps:

Since 16.4.1 was released I have managed to get it to not reset every day.. To achieve this:

  1. Ensure 16.4.1 is running on all relevant devices.
  2. Disabled parental controls on my parent device
  3. Restarted the device
  4. Reconfigured parental controls

seems to be working okay for a couple of days..

Same issue. It shuts off daily, sometimes right in front of me (I have a video of turning on content restrictions and having the slider turn off by itself after a few seconds). I cannot limit app time, set down time, or put in safety features such as restricting adult content (when I do, it resets by itself).

I have also followed all the "useful" suggestions (turn off/on, sign out/in, check server status, etc., etc., etc.). My record is trying unsuccessfully to get it to work after going through all the settings about 10 times in 1 hour... but no go.

And here I was thinking I was the only one! I was sure my 2 boys had figured out the screen time passcode (they did once before through discreet observation). I also have an iPhone 14 Pro, and this all seems to have started when I upgraded from the 11 Pro. What gives? Apple, please find us a fix for this screen time passcode resetting issues. Parents everywhere need this! Screen time is basically useless for now

This has been happening for me as well for the past weeks. After working fine for years before that. Limits keep turning off and disappearing or resetting to default values. Also when I try to turn everything back the way it should be the settings menu constantly “crashes”. Either it keeps turning the values I change back in front of my eyes, like it’s reading a value from a server and syncing rather than uploading my new value, or it just stops working completely. As in I enter a kids screen time and try to flip the switch for “scheduled” downtime and it just gets stuck, nothing happens. I have to force quit settings and open over and over to try to get all the settings back only to have everything gone again within hours or days.

We gave up and turned off all limits and downtime, because it just wasn't working, and decided to do things the old fasioned way and wait for a fix. To our surprise, a new limit appeared a few days later: 3 hours for all apps and programs. We have never had a 3 hour limit (the old one was 30 minutes for specific games), and now it seems our phone is just deciding what the best settings should be for our children. What a mess.
